About IAONZ

The Insulation Association of New Zealand (IAONZ) is an association which has established nationwide performance benchmarks for the supply and installation of residential and commercial insulation. In our role we have agreed standards of quality for product and installation in accordance with the NZ Building Code and AS/NZ Standards. Provide training to installers, ensuring quality installation delivery for their customers and work with Government and Industry to develop the insulation industry

Myth Vs Fact: Overheating in some New Zealand homes is caused by “too much insulation”.

For some reason, people think that insulation creates heat. Not true; insulation is designed to reduce heat flow from hot to cold. Ideal for keeping a house warm in winter, and cool in the summer. Once heat enters your house in summer, there needs to be good methods to remove that heat. Removing insulation is not the answer.
